Mold and Odor Removal & Sanitization
What should you do once you have found mold or have a musty odor
in your home or business? Don’t panic! Call Volunteer
Mold and Indoor Quality for straight answers to all your questions.
Found Mold?
It is critical to treat the mold quickly, properly and correctly. Do
not attempt to scrape it off or douse it with bleach. Both methods of
"do it yourself” remediation can do more harm than good. Scraping or
scrubbing the growths will release spores and mycotoxins
into your environment and respiratory system. Bleach is very
ineffective on mold. While it makes it look as though it disappeared in
fact it has gone transparent and will return. In reality the bleach may
produce more toxicity and pose a greater health risk
then mold left alone.

Who is impacted by mold and biological contaminants in the home or workplace?
Young children, the elderly and those with compromised immune systems
are most negatively impacted by indoor air contamination. A Mayo Clinic study
showed fungal growth in the sinus washings of almost all participants.
It was found that mold is behind 96% of all chronic sinusitis symptoms.
The study goes on to report that, “Doctors used to say chronic
sinusitis was caused by bacteria and prescribed antibiotics to their
patients. Now we know why this treatment had little to no result. Just
like we’ve said before, antibiotics can make a mold infection worse
since bacteria in your body actually fights off mold." Read what the American Academy of Pediatrics says about mold and your child.
The technology we use has been proven by university studies to be
effective in killing off mold and bacteria. Concerned about MERSA,
Ecoli and other bacteria’s and mold? Please read the study.
